About Bruce Miller
Bruce Miller has over 30 years of corporate and agency experience in brand development and e-media production. He is versed in brand strategy, content development, web strategy, and brand videos.
From agency partner to spare bedroom – After years as a principal in an Atlanta marketing/design agency, Design Coup, Inc., Bruce retired from managing payroll and agency overhead. He now works out of two bedrooms in a 1895 vintage house in downtown Decatur, Georgia as Miller eMedia. “I’m value-oriented, and so are my clients,” he explains.
Brand Story approach – Bruce developed the Brand Story® approach when he recognized three important opportunities that could help companies own their market:
-
- People don’t buy products; they buy brands. Appealing to customers through features, benefits, and price never succeeds because purchases are emotional decisions.
- The number one marketing weakness is a lack of brand positioning. Small companies look small because they lack a brand position. Aligning the brand to the customer’s needs creates loyal customers for life.
- There is nothing new under the sun; every product or service is a commodity. Differentiation, what I call the Secret Sauce, exists only at the brand level.
Bruce Miller learned brand strategy at CheckFree Corporation (now Fiserv), where Bruce and his team won the MAX Award for Georgia’s marketing campaign of the year. Before that, he learned brand strategy on his mother’s knee. His mom, Nann Miller, broke several glass ceilings as one of the first women to own a PR firm in Los Angeles. She appears in the Guinness Book of World Records for her brand-building stunts.
UCLA Film grad – Bruce is a graduate of the UCLA Department of Motion Pictures and Television. He is also an author and screenwriter.
Avid sailor – Bruce is an avid sailor, political junkie, and yoga enthusiast. Bruce also used his start-up methodology to help launch the Learning Tribe, an alternative approach to high school education. He ran political campaigns for four retired women during the 2024 elections.
Author – As an author, Bruce has written “FORTUNE, Our Deep Dive into the Mysteries of Love, Healing, and Success” “RUMI COMES TO AMERICA.”
His business book, “BRAND STORY: How to Launch Your Shoestring Startup Like a National Brand, is the basis for the Brand Story course.
He also wrote “UPLIFT, How to Harness the Hidden Engine of Continuous Renewal, and BONDO: A Divine Comedy About Love after Loss, and co-authored the parenting book, “Seven Superpowers” with Dr. Maria Guilmour.
